What with us being in China, and you all being scattered around the globe, timezones have presented a bit of an issue for the Practice service. With a bit of flexibility we’ve always been able to schedule sessions, but we knew eventually the service would need to be offered 24 hours a day. We’re happy to say that from now on, it is.
Starting today, you can receive your Practice session calls from Monday to Friday at any time you want.

Great news for us guys living in Europe. Thanks a lot for making it possible to receive calls in the evening European time. But I just learned from Eileen that a 2 month subscription is no longer possible. Why are you not offering 2 months for - say $360?

Hi Hans-Peter,
We changed the pricing to match our other subscriptions (1 month, 6 month or 1 year options) to make it easier for students to compare prices. You can still subscribe for two months though (just buy two 1 month subscriptions), at the regular price we used to offer for the 8 week program.

I guess that means different tutors for different timezones, are they all still based in Shanghai?
For me in Europe and with a preference for morning calls, the time difference has not been much of a problem. But it must have been for folks wanting their practice in the evening, or those in the US

Hi Goulnik,
You’ve got it. We are all still here in Shanghai, but have hired new shifts of counselors. It’s going to make a big difference for US-based students.

Just to mention that the shift to 24 hours (rather than Shanghai office hours) works great for me (1.5 weeks through my first month of the practice plan).
I’m in London and I can’t really spare any time during the working day. It’s just not possible to block off 10 minutes each day at the same time - even during my lunch hour - and as a lawyer, my working hours vary greatly depending on my workload (even to the extent of having to work through the evening and night without any sleep sometimes).
As such, I’ve scheduled my call for midnight my time. I should (touch wood!) be at home, have had dinner etc and be ready for a pleasant session of Chinese before bed. Thanks, ChinesePod!
