Later today we will move this blog over the Praxis Language.
We’re doing this to simplify things. I will blog at the new url and both SpanishSense and ChinesePod will link to it. My posts there will concern the broader issues - learning, web 2.0, linguistics, etc. For Chinese-specific items, I’ll post in the ‘Connect’ section, rather than the blog.
There shouldn’t be any disruption for you. All previous posts/comments will be moved to the new url, so if you have old threads or duiscussions here, you won’t lose them. From your perspective, the experience should be more or less the same as before.
The ‘ChinesePod Weblog’ link at the bottom of the page (throughout the site) will take you directly. There’ll also be an automatic re-direct for those of you who may have bookmarked this blog.
Hope that doesn’t cause any hassle. See you at Praxis!
Ken Carroll

Ken,
as long as the old entries of the blog are not dumped I am fine with that…
I would also suggest that you post Chinese related messages with more longlasting value in the Forum. It is the superior channel for those because it has more structure, superior search mechanisms, editing options, formatting functions,…
Henning, I totally agree.
Also, I like how japanesepod101 integrated the forum into the website.
haha, finally in disagreement with Henning
a) who’s going to decide what has more longlasting value and b) I personally never prefer the blog. Forum is prbly very rich but I find confusing and overloaded, also I guess I’m trying to go to less places
typo above, cross out “never” in “never prefer”
Ken,
You must really be busy. I’m surprised that you would risk diluting the Chinesepod blog by trying to cover more space (Spanish Sense and Praxis). I’ll be interested in seeing how it goes. I wish you luck.
Ken, I notice that there’s no longer any link to the contributor blogs anywhere on this page, or anywhere else on ChinesePod. Is this an oversight, or did we just get the hook and nobody told us?
Um …
How do we find the foreign language “auxiliary” blogs now? (ie: German, Spanish, Dutch, Frank’s Newbie stuff, etc.) They used to be linked on the sidebar. Are they being migrated too?
Or, upon reflection … what Frank already said.
I’m sure the missing link was an oversight… but it’s absolutely unreal the lack of respect ChinesePod pays to its bloggers. I just pray that the vision isn’t to have the bloggers blog on the “Connect” page.
Hi Guys,
Definitely no oversight. I’ll be putting it in today!
I totally support the combining of the blogs… I had been a little discouraged by how quiet Spanishsense’s blog was, when I KNOW the “Big Brain” of the CPod Blog has stuff to add that is relevant!
And the higher-level bigthink of the Praxis blog blends well too.
Plus, it’s just ONE site for me to check. So thumbs up Ken.
